Vikings Overcome River City 10-4

The Portland State Vikings hockey team routed the River City Jaguars (Jr. A) of the Nor-Pac Hockey League 10-4 at Valley Ice Arena Friday night. Anthony Libonati led the offensive attack with a hatrick and 2 assists. Also, Alex Zsenyuk led the team in points with 5 assists and 1 goal. Cyrus Phipps started the game in net allowing one goal. Ryan Stanchfield finished the second half between the pipes and gave up three.

The Vikings took the lead 12 minutes into the first period with a goal by Hunter Levengood assisted from his linemates Joe Wendt and Tucker Dougherty. They held the lead the rest of the game.

The Vikings' regular season begins Oct. 16th and 17th with road games against the University of Washington. Their home openers against Western Washington begin Oct. 23rd and 24th.
