Stephen ‘Skip’ Berryis the proud Play-by-Play (PBP) voice of the Portland State Vikings Hockey Club. Formerly, he was the PBP voice of the Fort Vancouver Pioneers (Junior Hockey Club) for two seasons. In that time, Skip developed an excellent reputation from the fan base and the league with his unique phrases (some are listed below), passion for the game, and energy for life.

Before Skip was the voice of the Pioneers, he was the PBP broadcaster for basketball at Cascade College in Portland, OR. Since then, he has broadcasted prep football, prep basketball, and minor-league basketball for Inside Sports and NW Sports News. Currently, Skip works for the number one AM radio station in Portland, OR (News Radio 1190 KEX) as a ‘Traffic Producer’.

In addition to working at KEX, Skip manages BWL Media LLC, which operates NW Sports News and represents Vikings Hockey advertising.

Skip’s mentors include: Scott Lynn (co-worker at 1190 KEX and national network sportscaster) and John Phillips III (former sports radio talk show host and current representative of women’s basketball for Adidas). He has gained immeasurable knowledge in the broadcasting industry from them both.

Currently, Skip is living in Vancouver, WA with his lovely wife Emily of two and half years.
